There are a couple of ways to do this:
- If you want to go the easy route just ask them to reply "yes" if they are planning to attend the event and if you turn on your "incoming SMS alert" in your settings and add your mobile number to the settings, you will receive their reply to your mobile phone and you can keep a count on the replies.
- The second way would be to create a separate "group" with a keyword that they would use as a reply. For example if you invite them to the clinic and set up a new group with the keyword "clinic" then tell them to reply with the word "clinic" if they plan to attend, then they will be added to the new group of attendees. This way later if you want to you can communicate to the "clinic" group with any future updates or weather cancellation since those are the only ones planning to be there. If you want to send this reminder every week, you can schedule the message to go out weekly under the "group message queue" under the message tab on the left. Then clean out the "clinic" group when the event is over and it will fill back up the next week with the people who respond "clinic" after the reminder goes out.
- The third option is more advanced. Under tools, there is a feature called "Q&A SMS Bots" and similar to the second option, you can tie a keyword to the invite, for example "clinic" and this could trigger a "Q&A SMS Bot" where you can ask them a few questions about their skill level or which type of clinic they would be interested in attending.
