If you want your personal name, club name or company to appear instead of your texting number, you can accomplish this by sending a vCard (virtual contact file) that the the recipient. Once the recipient saves the contact to their phone, then your company name or personal name shows as the "sender" when you send bulk or individual SMS to the contact. It's very professional looking and vastly improves the open rate of the messages. After the initial set up you are all set every time you text. Here are the steps to follow:
- First, create a vCard with all the information that you want your contact to save on their phone. You can create these either on your mobile phone or in Outlook or you can even do it with Google Contacts. If you add your company logo where the the photo appears, your logo will also appear in the message window when you send a message. Make sure to use the same phone number that your StringPing message will be sent from and either a personal name or company name, which ever you want to appear for the incoming text. Once you create it you can either send it from your phone to your computer by email or by Airdrop or if it was created in Google contacts click on export and select vCard. Here is an example of a vCards made on Outlook for StringPing
Once you save the vCard to your desktop then you simply add it to a message using the same procedure as sending an MMS message only instead of selecting an image you select the vCard.
It's a good idea to attache the vCard automatically to the first message the contacts receives. For example if they join a new members group, simply add the vCard to the welcome message with some kind of text that invites your contacts to add your the vCard to their contacts. For example: "please save our contact info so you never miss a messages from us".
This will allow the incoming texts to display a number and company logo as shown below:
